Dates and Location

Each farrier training course runs for one week, from Monday - Thursday (9 am to 5 pm) and Friday (9 am to 3 pm).
Courses are limited to five participants per session to ensure plenty of one-on-one instruction.

Alberta Foothills Farrier School horseshoeing courses will be offered on the following dates in 2026:

Alberta Foothills Farrier School operates at Bar JO Ranch, located about 25 kilometres northwest of Cochrane, Alberta, in the beautiful foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

Camping is available at the Ghost Station Campground, located 13 km west of Cochrane on Highway 1A West.

Nearby hotels and accommodations can be found in Cochrane (a 25-minute drive) and Canmore (a 40-minute drive).
